Clanton is located in the center of Alabama on Interstate 65, halfway between the cities of Birmingham and Montgomery. Chilton County is the state's largest producer of peaches and Clanton's most famous landmark is a peach-shaped water tower. It sits along the banks of the Coosa River and offers a selection of restaurants, attractions, parks and recreation facilities.
